One of my maxims in life is "Life's too short to eat bad food or drink bad wine". The obvious corollary of this is "Never regret money spent on good food and wine".
I'm sure that all this comes from a friend of my family who had excellent taste in food and wine, and exposed my parents and my sister and me to those influences when I was growing up. Additionally, I've always been interested in cooking, and did a few cooking courses when I was younger. Also, as my mum is a pretty damn good cook too, I picked up a lot of stuff from her.
All this means that I love going to dinner at restaurants, and I love getting friends around to my place to do a nice meal for them. This shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone who has read this website while I was over in the United States. Every chance I got, I went to San Francisco to eat, and documented the menus here.
