I don't know how I could live without music. Fortunately, my parents encouraged me to study an instrument from an early age, and I began learning the piano. For 8 or 9 long years I played that thing. I am no virtuoso, but I was good enough to realise that I could use my musical ability in high school and therefore chose music as one of my elective subjects. For the Higher School Certificate, it was a requirement that you were examined on two instruments, so I also began learning the saxophone. These days I play neither of them as I live in an apartment and don't want to irritate the neighbours. I generally get by beating out some acoustic guitar.
Concurrent with all of this, I did a lot of work for an independent public address supplier, first running cables, then mixing front of house, and ultimately running the foldback mix for thousands of live jazz performances. This was great fun.
With this background, my musical tastes are wide-ranging. I love everything from classical to jazz to rock to metal. Of course, growing up in the 70s, it was either disco, or Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. Disco sucks.
Someone recently asked me what I have in the way of guitars. I currently own four guitars. The reason I have four is that when I went to live in California, the electric I had then (and still have today) was a Fender Walnut Elite Stratocaster that I was unwilling to risk as checked luggage, so it and the thick-bodied Ovation Ultra 1517 stayed behind in Sydney.
Unsurprisingly, I got antsy without access to a guitar while I was in California, and ended up buying another Ovation, this one a Celebrity CC-57 thin-body. Then I fell in love with a Brian Moore i9, and had to get one. When I came back to Sydney to live, I used a professional moving company to ship my belongings from California to Australia, so it was no problem to get the two guitars I'd bought back here. Now my only problem is where to put them all in a one bedroom apartment :)
Being a nice guy, I'm partial to modelling amps, and have a old Boss GL-100 preamp and a Behringer V-AMP2. These keep me and my neighbours happy, and also let me muck around with PC interfaces for recording.
Below is a funky little widget that shows you my recently played tracks via the last.fm service. You need Shockwave Flash for this to work correctly.

Here is a list of some of the albums I have recorded as MP3s on my computer at the moment.
Note these are not downloadable. And don't send me e-mail asking for a copy either, as I will just ignore you.
